BOLLAERT Jan (1958)
Jan Bollaert is a contemporary Belgian neo-pop artist who is sometimes referred to as the "Andy Warhol from Antwerp". His art is always figurative and takes you on a trip to the nostalgic fifties where elements like glamour, humour and movie stars were important. The contradiction between reality and imagination are characteristic for his oeuvre. Bollaert want to bring back emotions in art without telling the spectator what to feel.
The art of Bollaert is present in different galleries and exhibitions all over the world. He designed the poster for the 31st Memorial Van Damme. |
